Friends of Rudy Gelnett Memorial Library
This organization is a non-profit group of dedicated volunteers committed to supporting all Snyder County Libraries. They contribute through fundraising efforts, volunteering their time and skills, and advocating for the libraries and the community. Their work ensures access to books, technology, and programs, fostering learning and literacy for all ages.
Friends and Snyder County Libraries have separate boards, fundraising, and tax ID numbers.
Friends: What We Do
In 2023, the Friends proudly celebrated 20 years of funding and advocacy for our Snyder County Libraries. Over the past two decades, we have contributed more than $260,000 in support of our four libraries.
These generous contributions have:
Expanded library collections by providing new books, equipment, and computers
Sponsored engaging programs for community members of all ages
Supported the Summer Reading Program, inspiring a lifelong love of reading
Promoted library awareness through community events such as the Tree Fest of Children’s Books and Snyder County Night Out
Together, we continue to strengthen our libraries as vital centers of learning, creativity, and community connection.
