Seed Exchange Tue, 09 Jan 2018 17:25:56 +0000
The East Snyder Community Garden is hosting its annual Seed Exchange at the Rudy Gelnett Library in Selinsgrove on Saturday, February 17th, 11am-1pm. (Rain/Snow Date: Feb 24th)
This free event is open to the public and all ages are welcome. The ESCG receives donations of seeds from various seed companies, including organic and heirloom varieties and gives them away to local gardeners. If you have saved seeds from your own garden, you are invited to share them here. Seed catalogs are also made available, and gardeners are invited to place orders together to save on shipping.
This is an opportunity to learn more about the East Snyder Community Garden and sign up for a garden plot for 2018. Garden plots are 30′ x 30′ for $20 per year. Garden plot rental includes water, access to shared tools, and opportunities to socialize with other gardeners at potlucks and educational events. Garden members are asked to give back to the garden by participating and helping out in any way they are able, as the garden is run solely by volunteers. Garden members are also invited to donate surplus produce to the local food bank and free community dinner programs in the area.

Central Susquehanna Sight Services will be doing a special presentation at Monday Funday, January 29 on eye safety. After the presentation, kids will be able to have their vision screened for $1. The library can cover this cost if needed. After the children’s vision screenings, any adults who wish to have their vision screened may also do so. Again, the library can cover this cost if needed.
